Purpose of the job: The role Analysis & Reportingf the accountant is to ensure timely, complete, effective and efficient financial recording and custodian of financial records in the accounting system and other database.
Reporting to: Manager of Investment, Financial Analysis & Reporting
Responsibilities and Deliverables:
● Prepare payment vouchers (for Internal and external suppliers) in accounting software after requests for payment are approved for payment.
● Post payment transactions into respective accounts/ledgers according to respective departments/Categories.
● Filling the payment vouchers in the most appropriate manner in accounting software to ensure ease of retrieval and correspondence with accounting records.
● Verification payrolls and ensure payment and posting is done according to respective departments/Categories
● Tracking the Budget execution through the various departments/Categories
● Managing the organizational Assets Register through regular update of the Assets Register
Timely provision of the following
● Approved payment vouchers filed in accounting software.
● Process transactions in the bank system as necessary for approval
● Payments to suppliers (Internal and external)
● Recording of incomes and file supporting documents
● Monthly Reconciliations (banks, payables and advances)
● Provision of audit information and engagement with external auditors
Person Specification
● In the process of undertaking CPA, ACCA, CMA or any other equivalent qualification
● A degree in Finance or Accounting
● Demonstrate a strong literacy, numeracy and analytical skills
● A problem solver with the ability to be resilient when setbacks occur.
● A team player.
● Able to work with different stakeholders.
● Wasac Group of company’s environment experience of at least 2 years
● Experience in usage of accounting software such as Odoo or QuickBooks
● Conversant with Microsoft office applications like Spreadsheets, Word processing, Power point and database and internet
